Willard Carroll (1955-) is a movie producer who has worked on some Oz projects and owns the largest privately held collection of Oz memorabilia including the Wicked Witch of the West's hourglass from the 1939 film.
He created The Oz Kids televison show and has written two books about his collection entitled The Wizard of Oz Collectors' Treasury and All Things Oz. He also published a special picture book called 100 Years of Oz: A Century of Classic Images with John Fricke along with a semi-biographical book about Terry who played Toto in the movie called I, Toto: The Autobiography of Terry, the Dog Who Was Toto published in 2001 and republished in 2013 told fictionly from the dog's perspective.
The facts in this book however are questioned by critics who claim that details were fabricated as Carroll supposedly came upon a buried tin box containing a scrapbook created by Terry's owner Carl Spitz. They point to facts that though he claims to have been walking near the Ventura freeway in Southern California during construction in 1993, it hasn't been renovated much since 1958 and also wouldn't easily have fit a bulldozer through he describes one being there. Through he was able to interview Mrs. Spitz, but he did not interview the children who later claimed there was no such scrapbook created by their father.
His only other Oz connection is that he founded a film company with Thomas L. Wilhite who worked with Walt Disney Pictures and greenlighted 1985's Return to Oz.
