Richard Carl Tuerk is a contemporary writer on Oz and L. Frank Baum. His book Oz in Perspective: Magic and Myth in the L. Frank Baum Books was published by McFarland in 2007. In that book, Tuerk traces classical mythic patterns through Baum's development of his Oz mythos.
