L. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is a supposedly upcoming film adaptation of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz being produced by Independent Stories, Inc. It is being co-produced by Fantastic Films International.
Though it has yet to be released, it was listed as being in Post-Production on its' IMDB page as a Facebook page for the project previously last posted in 2016 about more filming being done.
Interestingly enough in 2019, the page suddenly posted an article about a real 'Yellow Brick Road' being put in Chicago. Since this was posted three years after the last update, it is unknown when and if more will come about the film's status.
Production History[]
The initital annoucement of the film was made in 2009 with the teaser trailer uploaded in 2010. Fundraising for the film occured in 2011 through IndieGogo and Kickstarter campagins and partnerships with different companies were made. In 2013, an updated trailer was added and filming was stated to have finished in 2014. However, the film was reportably delayed due to special effects still needing to be added in to visually create the Cowardly Lion and Winged Monkeys.
