James Howe (born 2 August 1946, in Oneida, New York) wrote Mister Tinker in Oz (1985).
Howe is a polific author of children's books. He is perhaps best known for his award-winning Bunnicula series of stories, which feature a rabbit with vampire teeth who sucks the juice out of vegetables. He has created other popular series titles too. He co-authored a novelization of the film Dances with Wolves for children, and adapted Frances Hodgson Burnett's A Secret Garden.
