Although it is not one of the "Famous Forty" Oz books, Merryland is a magical country near the Land of Oz. In The Road to Oz, the Queen of Merryland and the Candy Man visited the Emerald City to attend Ozma's birthday party.

An edition of Dot and Tot was released by Emerald City Press in 1994, with new illustrations by Donald Abbott. A few lines from the Valley of Bonbons chapter were excised, due to mildly racist content.
