Baron Braun was a nobleman who lived in a "frowning castle". Although he had children, he did not welcome Santa Claus on his early visits, and even threatened to hang him from an iron hook on the castle walls.
Later, after the previous Baron had died, his son became the new Baron Braun. He apologized to Santa Claus for the poor treatment offered by his father, and asked Santa to bring toys to his own children. (The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus)
